Lambug Beach and the Goodness of Badian

Looking for a Beach in Cebu?

It’s summertime here in the Philippines. I bet most of us are looking for a good beach to dive into and unwind. If you’re in Cebu, then lucky for you because we’ve got a great selection of beaches here. Cebu is riddled with beautiful beaches and it was really hard to pick which one we should cover first. However, we picked this certain beach since it has been our personal favorite. Consider this a teaser to an upcoming post about Cebu’s finest beaches. So today, let’s just enjoy the grandeur of one the best beaches in South East Cebu: Lambug Beach.

Lambug Beach is located in Lambug, Badian; hence the name.

Why Go To Lambug Beach?

Lambug Beach is an optimal place for enjoyment and relaxation because it is unspoiled and usually free from the crowd. On its busiest days like summer weekends, you’d probably just be competing with 3-5 group of friends. Nevertheless, the shoreline has a huge enough space for everyone. So if you’re not into mingling with strangers, then here, you won’t have to. It reminds me of “Little Boracay” in Siquijor. With fine sand and clear blue seas, you get the beauty of Boracay without the nuisance crowd.

How To Get To Lambug

It is just a few steps shy from Cebu International Golf and Resort. Getting to Lambug is relatively easy. From Cebu City, you can simply go to Cebu South Bus Terminal and ask any of their personnel or take any bus with the “Bato via Barili” route. If you’re driving form Cebu City, you just have to follow the Cebu South Coastal Road until you reach the rotunda or intersection in Carcar. You just need to take a right turn to get to the south-eastern area. It should take you to the town of Barili followed by Dumanjug, Ronda, Alcantara, Moalboal before you get to Badian.

There are several breathtaking views along the way, so brace yourself.

Where You Can Stay

There are several beach resorts along the shoreline of Lambug Beach. We have seen Magic Beach Resort, Grandeur Beach Resort and some smaller cottages. None of which are listed online so it’s hard to book in advance unless you have their contact number (lucky for you we have ’em.) You also have the option to just bring a tent or to just rent a tent from any of the resorts there. However, the rooms there are just basic rooms which are relatively small, so don’t expect too much. If you want your stay to be remarkable, then we highly recommend you check out Badian Island Wellness Resort or any of the resorts found on the list of deals below as you can easily book them and you can get the most optimal price.

If you’d prefer to stay at the shoreline resorts mentioned earlier, then try to reach them through these numbers:

Our Experience:

We had a great time there.

We arrived late in a Tuesday afternoon. After taking the bus, we had to take a tricycle from Badian’s highway to the actual beach. We booked one of the small air-conditioned no-name cottages there. It was worth P2500.00 but we managed to sweet talk the owner to have it down to P1500.00. (Use your charm whenever possible. *wink*)

It was really peaceful and calming. Aside from a local preparing his boat to go fishing, we were the only ones walking along the fine beach. However, it was a cloudy afternoon, so when sunset came, we didn’t really have the best pictures. However, we did enjoy some late afternoon swimming and we didn’t stop till it’s evening.

We woke up a bit late and was greeted with fine weather, and that’s where we had the most fun. Since we were here on a weekday, we pretty much had the beach to ourselves for a while. That is until some group of friends came much later.

Additional Tips:

Bring food and drinks with you as there aren’t a lot of stores nearby and the ones that are there don’t have a lot of items to sell.

Usually when it’s a weekday, they aren’t even open. It’s still quiet a distance from the town center and marketplace and the nearest restaurant is a few minutes of a tricycle ride away, so to avoid the hassle, you might as well make sure you have all the goodies with you.

To Wrap it up:

Lambug Beach is really one of the best beaches that Cebu has to offer and you’ll enjoy its peacefulness. It is also close to some of Badian’s point of interest like the Cebu International Golf Course and Kawasan Falls.

We gave Kawasan Falls a visit before going home and it was fantastic. We’ll cover this falls more next time and we are determined to make a full Badian blog post soon in order to give this majestic town better justice, so watch out for that too.

As Lester would say it, don’t just take our word for it and see for yourself. However, I’m very confident you’d love it and you’d have a hard time leaving Lambug Beach and Badian.
